Founding Partners - Steve Shadrick and Tim Bay
In 1994, after working at the Chicago Board of Trade and ABN Amro Securities N.A., Steve Shadrick co-founded SGS Net, a firm which provided strategic online marketing consulting, managed business services, and developed custom applications utilizing Internet based technologies. In 1999, Tim Bay joined SGS Net to help run, operate, and continue the growth of SGS Net from its initial three employees into a successful multi-million dollar company with 30 employees. Prior to SGS Net, Tim had managed information systems, including web-based applications, at the Chicago Board of Trade and Ocè-USA. Subsequently, a national interactive agency and IT consulting firm acquired SGS Net, and Steve and Tim were hired to run and develop the Chicago Interactive Agency practice.
Prior to establishing Shay Digital, Tim and Steve started a new direct-to-consumer division, including the launching of two e-commerce websites, for Roman, Inc., a consumer products manufacturer and importer.
As the senior executives and thought leaders for these organizations, Tim and Steve developed and executed online strategies for a wide breadth of organizations across many industries, including many recognizable names such as BOSCH, Children’s Memorial Hospital, Dean Foods, Gatorade, Klein Tools, Nicor Energy, PepsiCo, Ty, Inc., and Wilton Industries, just to name a few.
Tim earned his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business and his undergraduate degree from Illinois State University. Steve graduated with distinction with his Master of Arts degree in Economics from DePaul University and obtained his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
